Legal and Ethical aspects of assisted reproduction

This thesis deals with legal and ethical aspects of assisted reproduction. The aim of the thesis is to analyse the current legal regulation of assisted reproduction in the Czech Republic, in comparison with the legal system of selected countries. Further aim is to expose the legal regulation's deficits and suggest possible solutions de lege ferenda, particularly with regard to scientific developments and ethical attitudes of the current society. The thesis is divided into six chapters, including the introduction and conclusion. The introductory chapter outlines the issue of assisted reproduction and denotes individual areas on which the thesis will focus. The first chapter deals with the various methods of assisted reproduction and with the term of infertility from the perspective of medical and historical perspective. The second chapter focuses on the legal regulation of individual areas of assisted reproduction in the Czech Republic. Among others, these areas consist of the constitutional protection of the human embryo, the determination of parenthood, the issue of surrogacy, gamete donation and disposition of embryos. Nursing care of the patient with pulmonary embolism after the hormonal therapy

This bachelor thesis is focused on nursing care of a patient with pulmonary embolism after a hormonal therapy. The theoretical part deals with the issue of pulmonary embolism from the point of view of etiopathogenesis, diagnosis, treatment, risk factors including hormonal therapy, where it the procoagulant effect of hormonal preparations and the increased risk of thromboembolic disease for young women is pointed out. The bachelor thesis was sourced from the National Medical Library through the PubMed database, Embase (Ovid), Medvik, CINHAL and the keyword search engine. For the practical part a qualitative research method in form of a case study was selected. The case for the study was a patient with pulmonary embolism after the hormonal preparation within the first cycle of assisted reproduction of the IVF. For the purpose of the case study the documentation, method of an interview, observation and cooperation with the care staff was used. Ethical aspects of research were respected during writing of this thesis. The objective of this bachelor thesis is to elaborate a case report including the creation of a nursing care plan for the patient in question and to increase the availability of information on possible risks of hormonal treatment to the general public. Assisted reproduction from the perspective of the target groups

This diploma thesis aims to describe policy design of assisted human reproduction in the Czech Republic in the frame of two examined groups: 1) women undergoing this procedure, 2) service providers. The goals are also to identify the policy framework of assisted human reproduction in the political environment. The theory background is supported by the theory of social construction of the target audience written by the authors Ingram and Schneider and the analysis of the framework by Rein and Schon. The legislation of assisted human reproduction is covered mostly in the period of 2011 - 2021. The analytical part of this work is based on systematic expert surveys, questionnaire surveys and analysis of stenographic records. The benefits and drawbacks arising from the legislations, political power and social constructions in relation to both examined groups are formulated in the paper's results. Furthermore, two competing policy frameworks are identified during the debate of amendments to the Act on Specific health Services and the Act on Public Health Insurance.

Hyperkoagulační stavy v graviditě se zaměřením na problematiku umělého oplodnění

This thesis is focused on hypercoagulable states during pregnancy, especially on pregnancy after in vitro fertilisation. Hypercoagulable states are a group of congenital or acquired states that lead to the emergence deep venous thrombosis, sometimes associated with pulmonary embolism. Pregnancy itself is indicated as hypercoagulable state, which is important for facilitating hemostasis during the childbirth to avoid bleeding. It occurs to hemostatic changes during the pregnancy when there is increased concentration of most coagulation factors. The aim of this thesis is to compare coagulation laboratory results in women with spontaneous pregnancy and pregnancy after in vitro fertilisation. The results of patients were monitored in the ambulance of clinical hematology in hospital České Budějovice, a. s. in 2015 and 2016.
Adoption by a same-sex couple

Bachelor work deals with the problem of child custody of gay couples in the Czech Republic and is divided into four basic chapters. The first chapter deals with homosexuality from the point of view of modern science and evolution. The history of homosexual behavior and statistics on homosexuals in the Czech Republic are also mentioned. The second chapter describes the form of alternative family care in the Czech Republic. In the third chapter, a homoparental family is defined, including arguments for and against raising children with homosexual couples. There is also mentioned a legal framework for homosexuals for the adoption of children. The fourth (final) chapter reflects homosexual behavior and the possibility of adoption of children by homosexual couples from an ethical point of view.
